Maize Genetics Executive Committee: Activities, 2006

Worked with the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) to help them communicate the importance of maize genome sequence to scientists and farmers.

Developed a survey that went to all maize genetics community members. Synthesized the survey and posted results on maizeGDB. The results were also sent to funding agencies and NCGA.

Initiated plans for a new comprehensive Maize Handbook (Jeff Bennetzen and Sarah Hake, editors)
